Question: what's the difference between a "burglar alarm" and a "security system" ?
Answer: A burglar alarm usually only "alarms" (hopefully) the burglar (most times the neighbours only do something when they get annoyed with the noise from the siren) A security system is a monitored alarm; within seconds of the siren sounding the monitoring centre is taking action (depending on client instructions this may be sending a patrol car, or calling police)
